1. Who We Are

Unmire is a personal development app operated by Unmire ("we", "us", "our"). Our contact email is hello@unmire.co.uk.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following data when you use Unmire:

• Account information — email address, display name, date of birth, sex, height, and measurement preferences you provide during registration.
• Weight entries — weight recordings you log, including date and optional notes.
• Fasting records — start and end times of fasting periods you track.
• Goals — goals you create and their progress data.
• Journal entries (Sage tier) — text entries and mood ratings. These are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-user encryption keys.
• Chat messages (Sage tier) — conversations with Croackus, our AI coach. Messages are processed to provide coaching and are archived daily. Chat content is encrypted at rest.
• AI-derived memories (Sage tier) — summaries and patterns extracted from your conversations to improve coaching quality. These are encrypted at rest.
• Location (optional) — approximate location if you choose to provide it during registration, used only to personalise your experience.
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Unmire service, including weight tracking, fasting timers, goals, and AI coaching.
• To personalise your experience and Croackus's coaching responses.
• To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe.
• To send essential service communications (e.g. password resets, subscription updates).
• To maintain the security and integrity of our service.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. AI Processing

If you subscribe to the Sage tier, your chat messages are processed by third-party AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate coaching responses and extract conversation memories. These providers process data under strict data processing agreements and do not use your data to train their models.

AI-derived memories (summaries of your conversations) are stored encrypted and are used solely to improve the quality and continuity of your coaching experience.

5. Data Security

We take data security seriously. Sensitive data (journal entries, chat messages, AI memories, wishes) is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-user encryption sub-keys. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication uses JWT tokens with short-lived access tokens and secure refresh tokens.

6. Data Storage

Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas servers located in the EU (Frankfurt region). Payment data is processed and stored by Stripe in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Chat messages are archived into daily summaries and raw content is replaced after each day. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure — ask us to delete your account and all associated data.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data.
• Objection — object to specific types of processing.

9. Children

Unmire is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

10. Cookies

The Unmire mobile app does not use cookies. The Unmire website uses only essential cookies required for authentication on the admin dashboard. We do not use analytics or tracking cookies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Unmire after changes constitutes acceptance.
